4. Personal data we collect and legal basis

We collect personal data you provide voluntarily, including:

We use your data to:

  • Newsletter sign-ups (name, email)
    We process these types of personal data on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a) GDPR that we collect during the registration process for the newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer (see above) or clicking the corresponding link at the end of the newsletter.

  • Event ticket purchases (name, email, billing information via our ticketing and payment provider(s))
    We process these types of data on the legal basis of the contract (Art. 6 (1) lit. b) GDPR) that you conclude with us by purchasing the event ticket.

  • Marketing communications (name, email)
    Where you have provided your explicit consent, we process your name and email address to send you marketing communications about AllUnity's events, educational content, industry insights, and regulated products and services, including electronic money tokens (EMTs) and stablecoins. The legal basis for this processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking the unsubscribe link contained in our emails or by contacting our Data Protection Officer.

  • Direct marketing regarding similar events
    If we obtain your email address in connection with the purchase of a ticket for an AllUnity event, we may use your email address to inform you about similar AllUnity events and educational initiatives where permitted by applicable law. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in conjunction with the applicable provisions governing electronic marketing communications. You may object to such processing at any time.

  • Contact form submissions (name, email, content of the request)
    We process these types of data on the legal basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR). Our legitimate interests lie in responding to your request.We may also collect certain technical information automatically when you visit our website, including cookies and analytics data. We process these types of personal data on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a) GDPR that we collect when you visit this website. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer (see above) or by changing your cookie settings via our consent tool.

  • Event photography and video recordings

    During our events, photographs and video recordings may be taken for documentation and promotional purposes. Such recordings may be published on our website, social media channels, newsletters and other communication materials. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in documenting and promoting our events and activities. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before using recordings in which you are individually identifiable beyond the context of general event coverage. If you object to being photographed or recorded during the event, please inform a member of our event staff.


5. How we use your data (purpose)

We use your data to:

  • Provide event tickets, and related services

  • Send newsletters and marketing communications where you have provided your consent

  • Inform previous event participants about similar AllUnity events where permitted by applicable law

  • Document and promote our events through photographs and video recording

  • Improve our website and services through analytics

  • Comply with legal or contractual obligations


6. Who we share data with

We may share your data with:

  • Payment and ticketing providers for processing ticket sales

  • Newsletter providers for sending communications

  • Analytics and hosting providers

  • Authorities if required by law

We generally do not share your personal data with parties outside of the EU/EEA. If, however, such a data transfer takes place, we ensure that adequate security measures and adequate legal guarantees in accordance with Art. 44 et. seq. GDPR are in place. We also do not sell your personal data.

  • Correct or update incorrect or outdated personal data about you (Art. 16 GDPR)

  • Request deletion of your data, if your data qualifies for deletion (Art. 17 GDPR)

  • Request the restriction of the processing of your personal data (Art. 18 GDPR)

  • Request portability of you personal data (Art. 20 GDPR)

  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications or other processing activities that are based on your explicitly given consent

  • Object to processing in certain cases

Where we process your personal data based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR), you also have the right to object to such processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object to such processing at any time without providing reasons.

8. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described above or as required by law.


9. Profiling and obligation to provide data

Generally, there is no (legal) obligation to provide your personal data. However, as part of the business relationship, you must provide the personal data that is required to carry out the corresponding contractual agreement or that we are legally obliged to collect. If you do not provide this data, we may not be able to execute a contract with you or provide our services.

Automated decision-making based on your processed personal data (including profiling) does not take place.

We take appropriate measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
